Custom Made Orthotics

Custom made orthotic insoles are prescription medical devices that you wear inside your shoes to correct biomechanical foot issues such as problems with how you walk, stand, or run.

Custom-made orthotics are specialized shoe inserts or insoles that are individually designed to fit the unique contours of a person’s feet. Custom orthotics are used to address various foot conditions, provide support, correct alignment issues, and alleviate pain or discomfort.

The process of obtaining custom orthotics typically involves a thorough assessment of the patient’s foot structure, gait analysis, and any specific foot-related concerns. This information is used to create orthotics that are tailored to the individual’s needs. The orthotics are often made from materials such as foam, plastic, or carbon fiber and can be designed for specific activities or shoe types.

Custom orthotics are considered more effective than over-the-counter shoe inserts because a foam cast is used to obtain an impression of your foot in a neutral non weight bearing position. They are specifically designed to address the individual’s foot issues and they can help distribute pressure evenly, improve foot function, and reduce stress on joints and muscles.  Most insurances cover orthotics with a prescription from your medical doctor.
